To help us answer quickly, please include your FinBeaver version (FinBeaver > About FinBeaver), your macOS version, and a short description or screenshot of the issue. Please don't send account numbers or other sensitive financial details.
New users get a 14-day free trial with full access. No payment method is needed to start. FinBeaver opens with a sample household so you can explore every feature before entering your own numbers. When the trial ends, a subscription is required to keep using the App.
Click Subscribe in the status bar at the bottom of the main window and choose a monthly or yearly plan. Payment is handled by Apple through your App Store account.
After subscribing, the same button becomes Reset. Choose Create Fresh Data to set up your own accounts, or Use Existing Data to keep what you have. FinBeaver then quits; open it again to continue.
Open the subscription screen and click Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the App Store app, click your name, choose Account Settings, then Manage next to Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Once you subscribe and complete the Reset step, FinBeaver backs up your data to your own private iCloud account. We cannot see or access it. In this version iCloud is used for backup only; syncing between multiple Macs is not available yet.
That entry is FinBeaver's backup. macOS lists it under the App's internal name, "financemanager". To see or delete it, open System Settings, click your name, then choose iCloud and Manage. Deleting it removes your backup permanently; the data on your Mac is not affected.
Sign in to the Mac with the same Apple Account, install FinBeaver and restore your purchase. Your data downloads from iCloud automatically. A long transaction history can take a while, so keep FinBeaver open and the Mac connected until it finishes.
Bank and credit card statements in CSV or Excel format, downloaded from your bank's website. FinBeaver does not connect to your bank directly.
AI summaries are generated privately on your Mac using Apple Intelligence. They require a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. On other Macs, everything else in FinBeaver works normally.
macOS 13 Ventura or later.
